Photographer: Felicia St-Louis (Cull) Affiliation: Carleton University; Supervisers: Dr. Steve Cooke & Dr. Andy Danylchuk; Location: Page Creek, Eleuthera, Bahamas; Project: The ecology of stress in the tropical coastal marine fish, the checkered puffer (Sphoeroides testudineus). Results indicate a negative relationship between the glucocorticoid stress response and fitness proxies in the puffer, and the consequences of stress on the thermal biology of this species in lab and field environments.

Photographer: Dr. Jon Midwood; Affiliation: Coastal Zone Ecology Lab, McMaster University; Location: Georgian Bay; Project: This picture was taken during a SCUBA survey of submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) in Georgian Bay. The goal of the project was to develop a GIS-based model to predict SAV coverage under changing water-levels. The results of this project helped inform coastal wetland delineation rules in future versions of the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System.
